Goals: Needed for spending - Repeat

The new goals are much more like what I want to use. I did find an issue with the Needed for spending type goal, and the ability to have it repeat.

My budget includes a professional license that must be payed every 3 years. I can set the "By Date" but when I try to the repeat to 3 years, it will not let me.

I think others will have multiple year repeats to use with this new way of setting goals.

  • What do you mean it won't let you? I just tried doing this and it didn't give me an issue. You just set your date, click the repeating box and then put a 3 in the box, then on the drop down pick "years."

Tobias I select 3, then I change to "Years".  The number changes back to 1. This happens on both FireFox and Chrome.

Cyan Mixer And you can't change it back? Might want to contact support over that or fill out a bug report.

Cyan Mixer Woop, never mind, I see it now. Once you hit years, you can only select 1 or 2. I was picking the 3 first while it was still a month, changing to year and not noticing it putting it back to 1. That part of the design really should be changed.

    • Thank you for those screenshots, Cyan Mixer ! 1 and 2 are the only options for the Years at the moment, but I agree—it looks like we need to make a change there. I'll pass your feedback on to the team!

  • Is there any update on this issue?  I need to set three and four years for some goals.  Thanks.

    • Hey Louis Martino — Apologies for the delay here! Two year is currently the max for Needed for Spending. I'd recommend going with Target Savings Balance by Date, for now! Our Product team is looking closely at feedback here, and they'd love to hear your thoughts.

Nicole  When the goal has been met for the year (e.g. met for Oct 2020) I see a message "You have met your goal". However I cannot reset the goal for Oct 2021 when I edit and use  Even when I change the end date under edit and click repeat, I still see "you have met your goal" and does not set up new goals. Do I need to set up a new goal for Oct 2021?
