Is there any way to tell when the last time I reconciled YNAB with my checking account?  This would make life a lot easier instead of searching things I have already reconciled.  Lots of payments this month and of course, things don't match.

  • Hello, Steel Blue Ink !

The easiest way to check when you last reconciled is to look at the date of the most recent reconciled transaction. You can spot a reconciled transaction because it'll have a lock icon next to it, instead of a gray or green C.

Now, that won't tell you the exact date you last reconciled, because you might have reconciled a day or two later, but that was the newest cleared transaction, but it should be close enough!

  • If you have a lot of transactions, I would just download a file from your bank and make sure the download window starts before your most recent locked/reconciled transaction. The computer is really good at matching amounts and saves time entering things when I've forgotten to enter something. It's easy to force the match if something I did enter was erroneous. Just be mindful if you have multiple transactions for the same amount that the auto-match is correct.
