Issues Linking Citi Credit Cards

I've been having issues linking my Citi credit cards for the last week. I've tried the following:

- Closing and  reconnecting the account

- Trying to link on both my iMac and then my iOS devices

- Confirmed my credentials are accurate and I can get into my Citi account but it's not working with the api (api.citi.com)

  • I'm having the same issue. Hoping the YNAB team is on it and will have it corrected shortly.

  • Aaaand, they fixed it by the time I finished sending them an email. Shoutout to the YNAB team for being ON IT! :)

  • Still not working for me. I get a blank screen when I log into the Citi api on both iOS (iPad Pro and iPhone) and Safari (Big Sur):

YNAB_User 5150 This happened to me when I tried to authenticate my credentials via the iOS app when they rolled this out. My reason was that my password manager was inserting an old password and I did not notice it. The blank page was actually an "Incorrect username/password" error page that is not being displayed right.

You may be able to troubleshoot it is you hit the "Share" button in the bottom right and see what happens when you open the page in Safari (worst-case scenario, look at the URL when it opens in Safari to see any indications of erroring out etc).

Sometimes when you hit the back button in the lower left, it does go back and show the actual error page, but YMMV.

      EDIT:

Just noticed that you verified credentials. Disregard that part of my post, and see if you can identify what is going on in Safari. Citi linking is working, as far as I know. :)

    • LoaferDude I'm trying it on Safari on my Mac and I'm getting the Incorrect User/PW screen.

I am using a PW mgr as well but I have 2 tabs open: 1 to my actual Citi account and 1 to YNAB. I used the same PW in both and only the Citi api in YNAB is giving me an issue; I got into my Citi account just fine.

YNAB_User 5150 Then the only thing I could advise would be to unlink and relink your Citi accounts. It could also be something temporary going on in the backend and may sort itself out. :)

    • LoaferDude This should work as I had to do that for one of my accounts last week.

  • I just tried it and it is working for me.  It loaded the new page that goes to Citi and connects your accounts.  Seems everyone is going that way now.

  • I finally got mine to work as well.  I ended up unlinking and reestablishing a new link.  Not sure what the issue is/was but it's importing now with the correct balances and no duplicates that I can see.

    • nevermind.  looks like it duplicated back to November.  UGH...

  • I'm having trouble as well, and am in the process of trying to unlink and relink the bank. When I try to re-link, I get the 'you can sign in through the Citibank, we'll never see your credentials' message, I hit continue, then it routes me to a page on Citi that says 'we're sorry' at URL https://api.citi.com/gcgapi/oauth2/error-page?statusCode=503&error=service_unavailable.

Logging in manually through on the Citi page doesn't allow me to progress, either. Halp!

  • It has been over a week since any transactions have come through the link with Citibank.  I have unlinked and deleted the connection and then re-established the connect and the link over the last three days.  Still no transactions.  It appears to broken.  Can someone at YNAB investigate.

    • Ivory Cobra Hi there! Since we don't troubleshoot DI issues in the forum, and you're working with Rachel in Support, I'm closing this thread to replies.

If anyone else is having similar issues, please report a Bank Importing Issue via this form! 😊
