Canadian calculator RRSP vs mortgage
Another person posted a question about what to do once the consumer debt is paid off. Retirement or pay down mortgage. I am sure these calculators exist for US and other countries but here is one for Canadians from a great site with lots of calculators and tax estimators etc.
They also have a calculator to help you decide when to take CPP. You can take it early at age 60 and get less per month or later at age 70 and get more per month. For some reason, everyone I talk to is taking it at 60. FOMO I think. I am waiting until 70. Only issue is always how long will you live and what kind of support services will you need. We need psychic financial planners. I use 85 as my “best before” date.
