Side Bar Account names cutoff even while using Toolkit

Long time user of YNAB, and using the Toolkit for YNAB addon. I have the feature turned on that allows the side menu to be widened so that longer account names can be seen, but they are not extending past 10 characters (sometimes only 9). I try hovering near the account name because it appears it is being cut off, but I am seeing nothing. I have not had this issue until just recently.  Anyone have ideas on what to do? I've tried refreshing, turning off theToolkit, turning back on and so forth... same issue. Anyone else seen this before?

  • What do you mean they are not extending past the 10 character limit? I am using the ToolKit too and I tried widening my left pane and it let me widen it as much as I wanted to. The max I can set the left pane appears to be about 25% of my screen width.

      LoaferDude Look at his screenshot.  He has extended the window, but they're still displaying shortened with "..." after the name, like there isn't enough room.

      Sorry, I don't actually have anything helpful to provide.  But i do see what you're talking about.  (Have you tried clearing the cache?)

    • Bruce Yes, one of the first things I did, but thanks for the reminder! It may just be a setting somewhere in the background, but I haven't had this issue until 3 or 4 days ago. I have backtracked over any changes I may have made, but  have not seen it budge.

    • LoaferDude Yes, my window is extending, but as Bruce mentions, my account labels do not extend like they are supposed to... they are being cutoff somehow.

      Bruce Yes, I did see that, but the image was so closely cropped that it was not immediately evident to what extent the panel had been extended to the right, hence my question. :) 

      macattack14 I can only think of one thing and something screwy is going on with the ToolKit. I would suggest you open the TK page, export your settings to a file, save it, disable and remove ToolKit from whatever browser you are using, install it again and import your settings file. It appears as if some internal ToolKit state is corrupted if you are able to resize the panel but it does not resize the content. Give it a shot and hope it works. :)

  • Hi macattack14 ! I'm going to move this over to the API & Integrations section. 😄

    When we release updates, it can impact features offered by the Toolkit, and they need time to make changes on their end. They're pretty great about that! In the meantime, you can use YNAB without the extension by disabling it or using an Incognito/Private window instead.

    • Nicole Thanks, and whatever needs to be done is fine! Thanks for taking interest and letting me know what's happening. I have also checked on the Toolkit reporting site and someone has posted there already... they may have a fix soon. Still, its great to see someone at YNAB support taking interest in my plight!
