Removing Credit Card Balance from "Ready to Assign"

Hello, I am trying to minimize my credit card spending. But it doesn't help when I see the bloated "Ready to Assign" number. All I want to see is my cash accounts like Debit/Chequing/Saving/etc. balances. It messes up everything. I can't auto-assign because I can go in debt by doing so. I only want to assign the money I actually have.

Because even though it says I have 6 unit of money ready to assign, I only have 1 unit of actual money. The rest is my "Debt Allowance"/credit card balance.

Or even better, I would like to choose which accounts to show up on "Ready to Assign".

Is there a way to do this?

  • Your credit card balances shouldn't be showing up in Ready to Assign unless you set your credit card account up incorrectly. Your starting balance should be a negative number.

    Unless, that is, you are actually carrying a credit (positive) balance on that card, in which case yes, that is money you can assign to categories for spending.
