Averaging monthly activity over a certain time period?
Hi, this is my first time on the forum, so I apologize if I'm not posting right, but here's my situation:
I'm new to using APIs and specifically YNAB's API. I'm trying to grab each categories' activity within a few month period and average out the activity spending. I'm using the category "Single category for a specific budget month" get request as many times as I have categories for as many months as I'd like to average out.
For example, if I spent this much in car maintenance in these months:
- Jan: $100
- Feb: $30
- Mar: $20
I'd want to be able to average those monthly activities and get $50.
From what I understand, YNAB natively averages the past 12 months of data (while I want to average a custom amount of months).
My problem as I see it is that I have ~100 categories right now. That would be 100 API calls per month. YNAB's limit is 200 per hour, so I would only be able to request 2 months of category data.
Am I approaching this problem wrong? Is there a way to do what I want to do? Feel free to ask clarifying questions; I'm not always great at explaining things.
