White notification dot but no pending transactions?

"If you have any transactions to import, approve, or categorize, you'll see a white notification dot to the left of the account name."

I have a credit card I have not used for a month or so. I see this white dot and wondering how to make it go away? I have no actions to do for that account.

    Is the white dot on the left side of the account name, or on the right side?

    If it's on the left, you have a new, unapproved transaction in that account. It might be a transaction that has a zero amount, or it could be something that has just never been approved depending on how far back that account goes in YNAB.

    If it's on the right side and looks like a white 'c', you have an uncleared transaction in that account. Clear it and then reconcile the account to lock it.

    Both situations need to be reviewed. If the transaction(s) in that account is(are) bogus, you can delete it (them).

    If you're still unsure what's going on, you can contact YNAB support, give them permission to take a look and they can probably clear it up for you.

      Below is a screenshot from my own budget that has both unapproved, and also uncleared transactions.

      The Bold items with the blue "i" are "unapproved", that results in the white dot on the left side of the account name.

      The unbold item is approved, but not cleared, and that's what represented with the white 'C' on the right side of the account name.

    • Melissa That indicator on the right is a Toolkit feature, not part of YNAB itself, so I'm guessing Cornflower Blue Boat isn't seeing it!

      Try clicking the Import(x) button at the top of the account register for the credit card—that should show you any transactions that are waiting to import. If it doesn't, please let me know and we'll figure out what's going on.

  • I'm having the same issue with a credit card account.  I can't find anything to approve (via the "view" button or a manual search).  I've tried importing transactions but there are no transactions to get.  What am I missing?  What else should I try?

  • It's ready for you.  The dot is only on the one I can't remove.  But if something changes between now and when you check, it's the c1.  Another detail is I've logged out then logged back in and it was still there.  Thanks!

  • So what is the solution if you don't mind me asking? I also have a white dot to the left of an account that won't go away despite no transactions needed approval.

    • JHBoricua Did you double check All Accounts for transactions waiting to import/approve/categorize? If that's not the issue, we'd be happy to take a look at your budget! Just enable Support Access and let us know you'd like us to take a look. :)

      JHBoricua Support needed to remove it from the backend.  It was fairly quick and after, I disabled support access.
