Automatic suggestion of amount when recording a payment with Android

I see from one of your videos that we can record a payment in the Web version and YNAB will automatically suggest the amount of the transaction based on the number of transactions that have been used with the corresponding credit card account.

However, I don't find this behavior in the Android version. I mean, auto-suggesting the amount.

Am I right?

Do I have to figure out the amount to transfer?

  • Hi Samuel ! In the web app, the amount available in the Credit Card Payment category. You're right - this isn't prefilled in the Android app. If you'd find it helpful, you can send over a Feature Request!

That said, for my cards, I set them up to pay the statement balance, so I'm always changing that number anyway.

Marisa I did a feature request for this ages ago because I find the credit card payment process not intuitive in the mobile version. You have to know to use transfer:Credit card name and as the OP Staates there is no quick way to see the available payment amount like in the web app. I again assert that much confusion for new users comes from their use of the mobile app only but expecting the same functionality as the web.

    • MXMOM Yes - I hear you there. I'm mentioning that difference directly to our credit card team to give it a bit of a boost.

  • Thank you for the reply.

I will not request a feature because as you said, we always have anyways to enter an amount that is different when we pay interest even if we've created a category for interest.

I've already listened to a couple of great videos from YNAB and I just want to be sure I wasn't missing something.

    Thank you very much :)
