  • You need to change the payee to a transfer and then no category will be required.

Here's the support article on handling imported credit card payments: https://docs.youneedabudget.com/article/117-credit-card-payments#imported-payments

Like satcook said, it should be recorded as a transfer between your checking account and your credit card, which will mean a category shouldn't be required.

Ben Thank you for the link. I am still confused but hopefully it will come as I go. Thanks

  • Hi Steel Blue Mermaid !

For payments to a credit card, it's important to choose the right Payee. Notice there's no category—instead it has a "Payment" payee. It will be an outflow in your checking account and an inflow in your credit card account.  Whether you imported it or entered it yourself, here's how a credit card payment should look:

If you have any questions about importing payments—or any type of transfer—we have answers. I hope that helps! Let me know if you still have questions. I’m happy to help!
