Is rate limiting by IP address, application, or user?

The docs say "You may make up to 200 requests per hour", but it is not clear what "you" refers to. Is this the application? Is it for a single user using an application? Is it by IP address? It would be helpful to update the docs to indicate what exactly is being used for rate limiting. Thanks!

  • Hey Aaron Parecki - Brady's going to work on updating our documentation! In the meantime, the rate limiting is by client IP address.

  • To clarify, does the rate limit apply to OAuth access as well, or only personal access tokens?
