YNAB without a PC

I have a friend that doesn't not have a PC, internet (other than on phone that I'm covering every month) who is in SERIOUS need of budgeting. (HAd no food for her and kids and SNAP hasn't been processed)  Is it possible to do 100% of YNAB on an android smart phone?

  • I would think so, yes. The only functionality you need the web app for is the reconciliation button. So she would need to keep a close eye on her account balances and make sure they match, but that's totally doable without the extra recon button. Good luck to your friend!

  • I think that the only time, this is based on when I signed up 15 months ago, that you need a PC is to set up/sign up. Other than that you can do everything via the mobile app.

  • Hi Silver Ink !

You're a great friend for trying to help find solutions!

Your friend can sign up via the mobile app (something we implemented after you signed up Ruff16965 (05bd62cee897) ). There are a few things she won't be able to do, like search for transactions and reconcile, but it will at least allow her to get started.

There are a few extended trial options floating around so she can get the most of her free trial, and if you refer her you'll both get an extra month after she subscribes. :)

  • Another possible solution is the local public library.  They often have computers patrons can use.
