Annoying "helpful" popovers on YNAB mobile

YNAB mobile has recently started showing "helpful" popovers.

The first problem is that these popovers almost always come at a terribly inconvenient time, when I am at the till trying to capture a transaction without holding up the line.

The second problem is, once I have dismissed these popovers so I can load my transaction, and then have a spare moment to actually read what YNAB was trying to tell me, I can't get hold of the original message.

Frankly, I am annoyed at this modern trend of apps believing that the user exists to be interrupted at the whim of the app, instead of the other way around. I am not happy that YNAB is going deeper down that particular rabbit hole.

What if, when YNAB wants to push these announcements to us, the "Help" button of the app gets a little red circle (like messenger apps do). Then, on my own schedule, I can click on Help, see a little red circle on a "What's New" section underneath Help, and then read at my own leisure, instead of trying to read YNAB blog posts in the checkout line.

    We try to use these infrequently, so we don’t interrupt your budgeting flow! We do need to, on occasion, let our users know about important changes or updates, so you can expect to see those pop up every now and then.

    I'm sorry to hear those came up an inconvenient time. Interrupting your process is the last thing we want to do. I'll pass your feedback on to the team!
