Toolkit error

I'm having an issue with the toolkit, where it doesn't show up until I click inside the category area right after loading (or on the budget itself somewhere).

The days of buffering aren't showing unless I move between months and back to December.  Even the Toolkit Reports button isn't there until I start doing something.

 

Is anyone else having this issue?

  • Not those particular issues, but for some reason there's a vertical gray line now going through all of my budget categories and I can't seem to get rid of it. I haven't changed any Toolkit settings recently, and it only appears in this month's budget (Not in Nov or Jan). This only started at the beginning of the month a few days ago. Refreshing doesn't help; nor does restarting the browser or power cycling my laptop. Halp?

    • Violet Rain Do you still see the issue if you use a private browser window? If not, try clearing your cookies and cache. Here are instructions for ChromeFirefoxSafari, and Edge—note that Internet Explorer is no longer a supported browser). Clearing means that you will lose certain information that your browser remembers, so you may have to reset logins, etc.

      Nicole It doesn't show up in a private window, but I tried clearing the browsing data per the above instructions (I'm using Chrome) and it's still coming up. I also tried closing the browser and restarting it, and still no luck. I can communicate further via email so as not to thread-jack Orchid Device 's post.

    • Violet Rain Since this issue isn't appearing in a private window, it sounds like it's solely a toolkit issue. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that helps but, if not, you can report the issue on their GitHub page.

      Faness - Yep, toolkit issue! Reset all the settings back to default and it went away.  I'll slowly re-add the features one by one and see if I can narrow it down if it returns. Thanks. 🙂

  • Violet Rain It's ok. It doesn't look like I'm going to get a response. Still having the issue, but I hope yours gets fixed soon!

      Orchid Device The Toolkit is separate from YNAB and the Toolkit developers don't always read these forums. If you have an issue, you need to report it to them via the bug report feature (I don't know where it is in Chrome, but in Firefox if you are using the Toolkit in the upper right corner of your screen is a green box with a white plus sign. Click on that and then click on Open Settings, and then Support.

      Sorry we missed the original issue reported here! We aren't able to troubleshoot issues with the toolkit, but have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling to see if that straightens things out? If that doesn't do the trick, you can report it directly through their GitHub page.

  • I believe that this is the result of turning on the "Budget Rows Progress Bar" setting int the Budget tab of the Toolkit.

    • Faness I think that it is 'working as designed' because the description says "Add progress bars and a vertical bar that shows how far you are through the month to category rows.". 

      I originally thought the line was a defect until I found this setting.
