syncforynab.com - UK (and soon more of Europe) Direct Import
Hey
A lot of our customers tell me that they wish they knew about Sync for YNAB earlier, so I figured I would post it here for anyone who does not know about it already.
I started an Open Source project a few years ago with the aim of syncing UK banking data to YNAB. This works really well, and hundreds of people are using it. The main feedback I got from that was that people did not want to learn how to host the application themselves.
In November, I set up syncforynab.com, which is essentially a hosted version of that open source application, with a lot more bank coverage.
We provide syncing from the following banks to YNAB: American Express, Barclaycard, Barclays, Bank of Scotland, The Co-operative Bank, first direct, Halifax, HSBC, Isle of Man Bank, Lloyds, Lloyds Business, M&S Bank, Metro Bank, MBNA, Monzo, N26, Nationwide, NatWest, RBS, Starling, Santander, Tesco Bank, TSB, Ulster Bank, and Virgin Money Credit Card.
If you are interested, head over to syncforynab.com for a free 7 day trial.

I subscribed recently when I finally switched from YNAB4 to nYNAB, and Sync is amazing. Why YNAB keep telling us they can't implement this in the app themselves I don't fully understand, but for now I'm very happy with Sync for YNAB, and happy paying the fee to never have to manually note transactions, or keep importing them all myself.

Hi Scott ,
Any possibility to use syncforynab.com with Canadian banks. YNAB stopped supporting many of the Canadian banks about 18 months including BMO and it would be very useful for Canadian users of YNAB to have this solution.
Finally, can you support HSBC Canada?
Thank you

Hi Scott, It's great that you have bridged the gap between YNAB and many financial institutions. So, well done on that.
I have two questions:
1. What is the maximum number of banks that your application can connect to under one account / subscription?
2. Would you consider adding some Indian banks such as SBI (State Bank of India), Bank of Baroda etc? These are banks based in the UK.
Would love to hear from you.
Cheers
Raj

Thanks Scott. I was in two minds about cancelling YNAB after the free trial but syncforynab.com has changed my mind. They owe you one!

It’s a bit too much for 3.99, but well done. How pathetic YNAB is for not introducing it its just amazing. Product management fail when a feature is developed off product by a third party and successfully sold. Although great job, I am a fan of solutions on one place, hence I am looking for a YNAB alternative. Maybe consider it but more likely to bail out of YNAB. I don’t want to start paying additional vendors for additional key features as this is a great example of that. Not interested in what’s coming as YNAB is a product that doesn’t listen to the customers and/or fails to develop solutions.

I'll admit to having no idea what has gone into syncforynab, but what does Scott Robertson know about bank syncing that YNAB doesn't?
