I travel internationally for work. I flag transactions on my credit card where the pending amount may not match the cleared amount due to currency conversion. I have scheduled transactions for $0 flagged - my credit cards are on autopay and this reminds me to update the actual amount. Same with utilities.

I use this for very few things so I have a short list.
I flag as yellow all my auto-pay items that are variable and also a scheduled item in YNAB.
YNAB enters the transaction a day early with a yellow flag and a $1 amount. Reminds me to go look it up and get the real number instead. Examples include Gas & Electric (one company) and Phone (variable based on data usage). They are consistent enough to use monthly averages but unpredictable in the details.
I will flag as Red anything that is highly dodgy and needs some follow-up.
In general I don't use a lot of colors. I only need two: yellow and red.
