Transferred money from main checking to budget checking not showing up as To Be Budgeted

I use separate cards for my bill pays and my daily expenses. Both accounts are linked but when I transfer the money from my main checking to my budget checking, the amount is taken away from my To Be Budgeted amount. It's showing up as a deposit into my budget checking but doesn't reflect that the money is still available to me.

  • When you enter a transfer between accounts, make sure the Payee is "Payments and transfers: To/From [other account]". As long as both accounts are on-budget, this won't affect your budget at all. You can tell when you've done it right because YNAB won't ask for a category for the transaction.

Coral Gazelle If you delete the transfer, does it put the money back? I'm inclined to think it's just a coincidence. According to the header, you are overbudgeted in December, because of both November overspending and budgeting too much in December.
