Bad support options/terrible credit card payment category

Am I missing something, or is email and this forum the only way to get in touch with customer support? When it comes to finances, I really don't want to have to go back and forth with support via email.  Literally every other service I use (which are varied and many) has real-time support options, like chat or a phone number to call during business hours. Why doesn't YNAB? I'd like support when I need it, not when YNAB can get back to me.

  • They definitely have real-time chat options, but the option is not visible when there is not someone available to do chat. Just like AT&T, Ally and American Express. It's not unusual at all for the live chat option to not be available.

  • Hi Slate Gray Piranha ! I sent you a quick email with this information already, but wanted to include it here as well. 😀

We don't currently offer phone support, but we do have a live chat feature!

In the web app, click the question mark near the bottom right of your budget, select Send a Message, and you'll see the option to chat if a member of our Support team is available. If you're on our mobile app, tap the Help icon on the bottom right, then scroll down and tap Chat with Us.

This chat is a newer feature, so the option to chat isn't always available. If you’re not seeing the chat option, it may be that we’re offline (we don’t yet have 24/7 coverage), or that all our team members are already chatting with other users.

If you don't see the option to chat, we can always answer your questions through email at [email protected].
