My browser YNAB has become unusable because of display problems

For the last several weeks I've had strange display problems in the YNAB browser app. Last night a new one appeared that literally makes the app unusable on my computer. There is a big column of white space between the blue account and budget display on the left and the main screen display on the right. As a result, a big chunk of information and controls on the screen scroll off the right margin and are inaccessible. I can't even contact support from the app, because the support controls are on the right side. Here's what it looks like. Yikes.

  • The Toolkit developers have released a fix, and we're hearing YNABers have had success uninstalling and reinstalling the extension!

    • Nicole is there a step by step for getting this turned off? I cant access the + sign button on the right hand side of the screen because the screen doesnt scroll all the way over!

    • Mullen Madhouse The green + sign is not part of the web page - it's part of your browser window. Most likely next to your address bar.

  • It seems to be something to do with the Toolkit. I've turned it off for now.

      Green Nomad I think they're aware. There are another couple of threads about the issue.

      You can also get around it by turning off Allow Resizing of Side Menu and Collapsable Side Menu from the Toolkit General Settings Menu. That will allow you to at least use all of the other functionality of the Toolkit until they fix the issue.

    • Dave and Lisa how did you even access it? Something about how the new screen looks - I can not even click on the green + sign! SO frustrating.

      Mullen Madhouse The toolkit button is in the browser bar next to your other extensions, not in the YNAB app.

      Mullen Madhouse To extend on nolesrule comment: your browser bar shouldn't be screwy but if it is when you are on YNAB budget, simply open another website and you will be able to turn off the toolkit then. Then open your budget again.

  • I had the same problem which coincided with the goals updated around the 19th of June.  I followed everyones advice which did fix the issue.  I don't suppose anyone has an idea if the resizing option for the inspector and accounts will be coming back soon?  Thanks to everyone who develops this amazing add-on for YNAB!!

      We can't say for certain when the Toolkit Developers will get certain features back up and running, but they're usually pretty quick! You can take a look at their Github where they list current issues, but it looks like this issue is set to be addressed. :)
