YNAB New Toolkit Graph - Inflow/Outflow Graph not matching IncomevExpense Report

Did anyone notice the new YNAB toolkit graph - inflow/outflow. Seems pretty good, however it does NOT match at all with the Income/Expense Report.

  • It includes Tracking accounts, unless you filter them out.

    The report is a first derivative of the Net Worth report. It essentially graphs your change in Net Worth from month to month.

    • nolesrule Good point. One quick thing. Why does following report don't match, assuming all categories and accounts included

      Toolkit Reports ->Networth Value

      does not match

      Toolkit Reports ->Inflow/Outflow Difference Value

      Sky Blue Harp Mine matched exactly except for this month, which was off by the amount of today's transactions. When I reselected All Dates, this month matched. So I wonder if there is something getting stuck in the filter using an exact date until you reset it.

      When you are calculating the Delta from the net worth, it should be the same month - previous month. So May 2020  difference should be May 2020 - April 2020. April 2020 would be April 2020 - March 2020.

    • nolesrule You are awesome!!! I think I did NOT do the mental math of calculating and comparing delta in my networth . Now this matches exactly.

      Basically,

      Delta MoM(currentMonth-over-previousMonth) in NetWorth Graph === Difference Value(currentMonth) in Inflow/Outflow Graph

      nolesrule What useful information can one glean from this report? It's not doing much for me. Am I missing something?

      Superbone I don't know. I mean if you limit it to budget accounts then it'll match the income and expenses report bottom line. If you additionally limit specific categories then it's a graph of just the spending in those categories.
