Create a button for target balance
It seems like there should be a button to enter the difference between what is currently budgeted and what the target category balance is. If I have a monthly target balance and have not set aside enough money to meet that target, I have to manually enter in the exact amount to meet that target. If I set a "monthly funding goal," however, under "Quick Budget" there is a box, "Goal Target" that I just click and it automatically enters the budgeted amount (screenshot 1, red circle). Am I missing a feature? It seems like if I enter a Target Category Balance (screenshot 2) either the "To Go" at the bottom right of the "Goals" section should be clickable (screenshot 2, blue circle) or the "Goal Target" option should remain but be listed as "Missing Target Balance" or "To Go Target Balance" (screenshot 2, red circle).
Hi DocDax !
The "Underfunded" Quick Budget option should do exactly what you're looking for in your budget! The "Underfunded" option is designed to budget enough towards your categories to bring them to the necessary amount to rid your budget of any yellow (for underfunded goals or upcoming transactions). :)
Give that a try and let us know if you still have questions!Reply
Sorry Faness but that doesn't work. If you select just the single category with a target balance there is no Underfunded Quick budget option (which you can see in the screenshot that was posted). If I select more than one such category, there is an Underfunded quick budget button, but the amount is $0.
This is important because I think you actually want to get to the point where most of your categories are just maintaining a certain balance in a category rather than focussing on how much to put in.Reply
I suggested a way to write our feature requests in a more standard form. It's not required at all, just a suggestion. I think you have almost the info I suggested. Here's the post https://support.youneedabudget.com/t/q5wa5sReply
