YNAB's 34-Day Challenge!
The YNAB 34-Day Challenge starts tomorrow! For anyone interested in joining in, let's keep track of our progress through this thread :)
You'll get a daily prompt to take a small action for your budget that should set you up for the best year yet. At the end of the challenge, someone will walk away with a full free year of YNAB, too!
Must finish Challenge!!!
Day 33: Give this book a look
Ok, I actually got the audio book. I've been curious about it and since it was part of the challenge, why not? Haven't gotten too far in at this point but so far, so good.
Day 34: Win a free year of YNAB
I'm opting out of the contest. That said, I loved doing this Challenge. Participating in it has helped me stay focused on what I want to accomplish this year in terms of budgeting. Spouse overspent what I had budgeted in some categories last month and I almost gave up. Instead, I upped the amounts this month. He has several trips planned in several consecutive months coming up soon that he has no budget for and I have no idea how much he will spend. I've decided that I will set aside as much as I can for those trips so that when the time comes, I won't have to do too much moving of money. When all is said and done, we will probably be back to paycheck-to-paycheck but hopefully, true expense categories will still have some funds in them.
Also, I was against linking my accounts, but I've since changed my mind. All my accounts are linked and while I still do manual entry, reconciling has gotten so much easier and quicker! Not that it was hard and took so much time before but hey, those of you that link know what I'm talking about, right? 😊
Another positive from this challenge...meal planning. Game changer!! Trips to the store are fewer, deciding last minute what to make for dinner a thing of the past. Money and time saved!!
As a long time Ynabber, I needed this challenge. Thank you.Reply
