Linked credit card not showing up in "Credit Card Payments" category
Hey there,
So I have a bit of a funny problem. I have a Scotiabank Chequing Account and a Scotiabank Amex card - I've not had any issues linking the accounts to my YNAB.
The issue is that the Scotiabank Amex card is not showing up in my "Credit Card Payments" category at the top of my YNAB budget with the rest of my credit cards (which show my balance, etc). It's not a huge deal but I'm just wondering why it's not showing up. It does appear in the left hand column of all my financial accounts. Is there anyway to manually add it to the Credit Card Payments category?

I should also add:
- I've tried delinking and linking the Scotiabank Amex account- It is not "hidden"

Actually - when I look at the account through the YNAB phone app, it says the account is a Savings Account but I can't change it to a Credit Card account - I bet that is probably the root of the problem.

It sounds like you've gotten to the root of the issue and I wanted to leave steps on how to address it. :)
It’s not yet possible to change the account type for an existing account, but you can create a new account and move over the transaction history. Below are the steps to do just that.
1. Create a new account to replace the current one by clicking Add Account > Unlinked. Choose the account type you’d like, give it a nickname (it will need to be slightly different than the original account), and enter 0 for the balance.
2. Go to the original account, select all of the transactions, and move them to the new account using the Edit menu.
The next step will be to delete the original account. If it's a credit card account, first check the Notes area for the credit card payment category in case there’s anything there you want to save.
3. Okay, it’s time to delete the original account. Click the Edit icon next to the account name in the left sidebar, and you’ll see the Delete Account button. Be sure to save any text in the Account Notes field if needed.
4. Now, you can edit the name of the new account and/or link the account if you'd like. For credit card accounts, you may want to create a goal on the new payment category in your budget.

Hi! I'm having this same issue, but the account is correctly categorized as a credit card account, but not showing up in my budget under the credit card payment category. I added the card to YNAB about two or three weeks ago. Please help :(

I'm experiencing this exact same issue but I've confirmed that it's set as a Credit Card and it is not in my Hidden Categories group... any idea what else could be wrong? Everything is working for the first credit card I added, but the other two are not working properly.

Slate Blue Flute If there isn’t a Credit Card Payment category for a card account (even in the hidden categories), then the card needs to be added again with the correct type, and all transactions moved from the old card before it’s deleted. I recommend following the steps Faness outlined above to create a new credit card account to replace the old one. Let us know if you have questions along the way! :)
