Frustrated with Bank Transfer

Inevitably if I walk away from YNAB for a 2-3 week period... when I come back, everything is messed up.  Let me explain.  I had everything reconciled TO THE PENNY 2 weeks ago.  I went on vacation and well, life happens.  Normally I will manually drag my ofx spreadsheet (is that the right word? lol) over but this time, I clicked "import".  Well, When I do that it messes up everything!  Now it says I'm $-9000 NEGATIVE.  Wahhhhh I don't have time for these types of mistakes.  I love ynab when it works for me.  but why? why does it have to import EVERYTHING when I click on import?  i just need it to import the past few weeks.... sigh.  Now how do I fix it and get rid of the import?

  • That does sound frustrating,  Tomato General ! I have a couple ideas to get that fixed. :-)

    First, at the top of your budget and each account register, you'll see two circular arrows. Those are the undo and redo buttons. Click the undo button until the import causing the problem disappears, and you should be all set! Please note, though, that those will only work before you refresh your budget or log out.

    Next (if you're unable to undo), if the imported transactions are in need of approval, your best bet is going to be to follow the steps below:

    1. Log into your account from a web browser.
    2. Filter for unapproved transactions by typing “un” into the search bar in the upper right and selecting “is Unapproved"
    3. Select all transactions that need approval.
    4. Click on Edit and select “Reject” (Make sure you don’t select “Delete” as that may remove some of your entered transactions that were auto-matched to imported transactions.)

    This should take care of all of the imported transactions without changing the transactions you have entered in your account register.

    Do either of those options work for you?
