Can't reconcile a Vanguard savings fund
I put some money into a Vanguard money market fund ($10k), which supplements $4k I already had in a different Vanguard savings fund.
I linked the Vanguard account on YNAB. For some reason the two accounts are combined as one, on YNAB, which is a minor frustration, but set that aside.
A few days later the $10k transaction from my checking account had to be categorized. I categorized it as a balance transfer. That inflated my Vanguard fund to $24k, although it is obviously only worth $14k.
I reconciled, and said the true value was $14k. But in my "assets watch" savings category, the account still reads as $24k, which is wrong. How can I fix this? (When I try to reconcile again, I am told the true value is $14k.)

You are apparently trying to synchronize a category to an account, which is making it harder than necessary. (When synchronized, one is redundant; when they disagree, one is misleading.) Read this for insight into an easier way: accounts hold dollars, not specific categories. Also this.
