I paid credit card in YNAB--will that show up in real accounts?

Hello, this may be a dumb question. I paid my credit card in YNAB by transferring money from my checking account to my credit card account. I thought it might force the same transaction in my real-life account since they are all linked to YNAB. But I guess it doesn't work that way? I have my checking account and credit card account with the same bank. Do you think I can make that transaction in real life by transferring money from my bank checking account to my bank credit card? Thanks!

  • No. YNAB transactions do not effect actual accounts. YNAB linking is read-only. You will need to do an actual transaction/payment in your real accounts.

  • No, YNAB is separate from your bank accounts. You have to make your real world transactions and mirror them in YNAB. If your accounts are linked, they can drive YNAB but not the other way around.
