"Qpc Cancel" Refund?
I made a purchase the other day at B&H Photo, and the charge went through and I got the product. In YNAB though, there is what appears to be a refund transaction on that same day, for the same amount, and the payee is "Qpc Cancel B&H Photo".
I hadn't cancelled the order, and there is no such transaction when I look on my actual credit card's website, nor any temporary transactions. The original payment transaction is cleared.
Any idea what could cause this 'refund' transaction to appear?

Same problem for me, as well. Starting July 18, 2020 I am now seeing a number of transactions for my Citi credit card with the text "Qpc Cancel" or similar. These transactions appear to match valid transactions, except the amounts are negative.

Superbone A little late to this one! 😉 Wanted to clarify that it's based on how a financial institution handles changes to the metadata, and not specific to a particular provider.

Just curious, has this been solved for anyone yet? It's been happening on 3 Citibank accounts for me a good deal over the past month. I did report a Bank Importing Issue. I'll follow up and post here if there is any resolution.

Tan Song Amy Adams This can appear when a financial institution makes changes to the metadata (unique identifying data stored behind the scenes) of a transaction.

I'm having this same issue with my Citi credit card and it's driving me nuts! Suddenly I'll get a bunch of phantom credits. This has been happening for at least a couple months and clearly isn't an isolated incident. Please fix this!

Same issue for me. They seem to come in waves. Some have QPT Cancel... some have QPT Cancel k.w.t. Citi Credit Card. Reported issue in link above. Very annoying.

I have this problem whenever the billing cycle switches over at the end of the month. I get a big batch of these. Note that the three initials separated by periods (e.g. A.a.p.) are the card users initials, so if you and your spouse share a card then you'll your initials on your purchases and their initials on their purchases. Still don't know why this happens. It's only doing it on my Citibank Costco Visa once a month at the cycle closeout. I've submitted a bug report to the account sync problems group. Other than that, Citibank transactions on the card sync pretty reliably, although there's usually a 24 hour delay of any transactions downloaded after the weekend--first sync doesn't usually happen til Tuesday, typically.

Piling on as another user having this issue. I have submitted a bug report, but I'm highly concerned that this has been going on for months without any mention of a solution on this forum. Has anyone found a solution? If this isn't resolved I'll likely just move to another platform. I expect this kind of service from a free to use platform like Mint, but for a paid service this feels wrong.

Coral Cheetah Did YNAB support send you instructions for creating a new link to your account? That solved my problem with my bank connection months ago.

Slate Blue Moose I just submitted the ticket this morning, so I'm guessing I'll get that as well and will try it out. Are the instructions generic enough to be shared on this thread? It didn't look like anyone posted a solution here, so I thought this was still an issue that hadn't been solved.

Coral Cheetah It might require some intervention from the help desk, so I recommend proceeding with caution, but it was very easy for me to do with my US Bank connection. This is what I received:
Here are the steps to add a new US Bank connection (not a new account) while keeping your current one intact in case we need to go back to it:
- Hover over the name of the account in the left column and click the Edit icon that appears in front of the account name.
- Click Unlink Account
- Repeat Step 1, then click Link Account.
- Instead of choosing your current connection to US Bank, please choose to add a new connection to US Bank.
- If you're successful, link the account and I'll be happy to remove the old connection so that you know you are re-linking any remaining accounts to the correct connection.

We don't post too many "solutions" for direct import issues, because what works for one account may not work for another (it can vary depending on the provider). If the steps above worked, then yay! If not, our Direct Import team should be in touch soon! :)
