Fresh Start but One Month Ahead Question!!!
Debt Free after a year on YNAB!!!
Completed a Fresh Start this month and funded my entire month with last months pay. My question is I have two paychecks coming on the 10th and 25th, how to I handle the income since my entire month is funded.
Do I leave in TBB or start funding next month?
Love YNAB, especially after the banking syncing issues are over!!!

Put them in an Income Next Month holding category and release it next month to fund next month's budget.
This helps you avoid a lot of headaches that can happen when you budget money you want to use in a different month directly in that month.-
nolesrule Thank You! I created the category. Once the income transaction occurs I move to this category and it is in the "Activity" column but I do not add a "budget" amount.
Once the month ends or right before, I move to TBB?

Alice Blue Mill If you categorize the transaction directly to the category, then at the end of the month you need to change the transaction category back to TBB for accurate reports.
The other option is to categorize to TBB, then budget the money in the current month and unbudget it in the next month.

nolesrule I did a test by categorizing 1k into the created category. At month end, I will "Move" to TBB? Sorry for the detailed questions, just don't want to screw up the budget and totals.

Alice Blue Mill Since you put the money into the category by categorization, you need to edit the transaction to "release" it. The "capture" and "release" method needs to match. Either both transaction-based or both budget-entry-based.
