Paypal Not Available?

I am trying to link my PayPal account and when I try to add a new connection, it says "We couldn't find a financial institution named "paypal" that supports Direct Import. Don't worry, you can still continue setting up this account." Is PayPal no longer available?

Thanks.

  • Hi Richard McEnery ! I'm glad you reached out.

PayPal has started to add Google reCAPTCHA as a security feature, but this isn't something our import partners (and therefore we) are able to support at this time. So they had to remove PayPal from the connections list.

The good news is they will continue to work on making a connection, so it may be available for Direct Import in the future.

In the meantime, we've heard from other PayPal customers who say they've been able to use File-Based Importing to download transactions and drag and drop them into YNAB (more details on this below). This definitely makes it easier to keep up with the transactions, because you can add multiple transactions at once! Check out PayPal's instructions for downloading transactions here. Just be sure to choose QIF as the file type, since that will import better than a CSV file.

If there is anything else I can do to help in the meantime, please let me know!
